Learner Advice & Guidance

'Information Advice and Guidance' (IAG) is the term used to describe what tutors are doing when they offer 'support to people to make the best choices on learning and work options'.

By the very nature of teaching, all tutors are already delivering IAG.  This may, however, be backed up with course information, leaflets, induction programmes, exit guidance etc to ensure that learners and potential learners are aware and can make informed choices about their futures.

INFORMATION

On this site, you will find information about the services of our organisation and the courses we offer.

If you need clarification about this, please call us or e-mail Training@TheHClub.org.uk to request more information

If you have difficulties reading our web-pages, you can request further information by sending us a large, self-addressed stamped envelop with your information request.  Use the Contact page and our Head Office advice and mark the envelope 'Training Information Request'

If you have any queries about a course or service, again, simply e-mail us or call our Head Office to discuss it

If we do not have all the information you require, where appropriate we will either signpost you to another provider of information eg local library, another training organisation etc or try to get it for you

OPTIONS AND CHOICES

Where oither options might be more appropriate to your training needs, we may need to discuss these with you to ensure you are aware of a range of provision and services

If more detailed information and support is required, we may either refer you to a particular learning provider or employer, or to a Next Step registered IAG adviser

A Next Step registered provider is a specialist IAG worker who has undertaken an NVQ or equivalent at Level 3 or above in Advice and GUidance.  Using the referral directory you can contact a relevant adviser; it could be a Connexions adult adviser from the local centre or some other appropriate person, ie Deafness Support Network

Everyone who has below a full level 2 qualification (5 GCSEs or equivalent, eg NVQ 2) is entitled to in depth IAG support from a Next Step registered provider.
